California to ban captive orca

If this bill went through, i would ban captive orca being used in theme parks/zoos/sea parks. They would all have to be released or rehabilitated into sea pens. This. Would. Be. AMAZING.

Hopefully! Unfortunately, show-loving tourists will oppose it as much as they can.

Yeah I can't see it actually going through because of how much it brings into the economy. But it's being talked about at least! Frankly I would be happy if they just put a ban in breeding and let the ones who are currently in the shows live out their days. If any can be released then great. I can't see them spend millions making sea pens thoug. After that they go away and tear the place down.

Doesn't help that SeaWorld's youth ambassador is Bindi Irwin. Because of who she is and who she's related to, people automatically assume that she's supporting a cause in the animals' best interests.

Yeah but they own a zoo themselves and put on feeding shows. So it's not that shocking tbh.

No, it isn't shocking, but it does create an impression with people.
